Founder & Executive Director

I founded Rolling with Dads because, as a new father, I experienced the challenges of navigating fatherhood without adequate support and resources. My son inspired the creation of Rolling With Dads and fueled my desire to be the best father I can be, which is when I realized the crucial need for support for dads. Experiencing the lack of community and resources firsthand motivated me to provide a community where fathers can find unwavering support and the resources needed to help them navigate through the complexities of parenthood. - Hezekiah Johnson

Rolling With Dads isn’t just a support group — it’s a brotherhood. We offer a safe space for dads to bond, exchange parenting tips, and grow together. From outdoor activities to workshops, we’re all about action!

Approximately one in ten men experience mental health difficulties during the early years of fatherhood, and these can have negative impacts on children and families.

The Need

  • About 52% of married or cohabiting fathers report feeling judged by their spouse for their parenting, which can contribute to feelings of isolation. Additionally, many fathers feel judged by family members and friends, increasing the sense of isolation (Pew Research Center).

  • Many fathers struggle with self-doubt. Nearly half (47%) of fathers report raising their children similarly to how they were raised, yet still experience significant uncertainty about their parenting choices (Pew Research Center).

  • The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services highlights that social connections are crucial for mental health, yet many fathers report a lack of social support and community connections, exacerbating feelings of loneliness and stress (HHS.gov).

Fathers often face isolation, exhaustion, lack of confidence, and limited community support, as recent studies highlight. About 35% feel judged by other parents, 41% find parenting tiring, and many report a lack of social support, exacerbating feelings of loneliness and stress. Rolling With Dads addresses these issues by creating a supportive community that empowers fathers through connections, practical support, and activities. By fostering brotherhood, we help dads build confidence, improve parenting skills, and strengthen families, ultimately benefiting the entire community. These efforts underscore the crucial need for organizations like ours to provide essential support for fathers.
